Youth Minister chairs first meeting of cooperation committee with Empowerment Centers
Minister of Youth Affairs, H.E. Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, chaired the first meeting of the new Cooperation Committee between the Ministry of Youth Affairs and the Youth Empowerment Centers. The initiative reflects the ministry’s commitment to strengthening coordination with youth centers across Bahrain to further develop the national youth sector.
During the meeting, the minister highlighted the vital role played by the Empowerment Centers in supporting young Bahrainis and meeting their aspirations. She noted that the centers serve as important platforms for nurturing creative talent, encouraging youth-led initiatives, strengthening cultural and intellectual identity, and building both personal and professional skills, in line with the National Youth Empowerment Strategy.
She added that Bahrain continues to lead in empowering and supporting its youth, providing them with opportunities to explore new horizons, enhance their leadership and entrepreneurial skills, and take part in shaping the future. Strengthening cooperation between the ministry and the centers, she stressed, will build on past achievements and drive further progress in the youth sector.
The meeting also discussed key areas such as the role of Empowerment Centers in nurturing talent, implementing strategies that expand youth participation in various fields, and providing training programs to build skills and capacities. Members also reviewed proposals to improve administrative and organizational aspects of the centers and enhance staff development.
It is worth noting that the minister had earlier issued a decision to establish this joint committee, which includes representatives from all Youth Empowerment Centers. The committee’s main goal is to promote collaboration, improve the quality of youth programs, exchange expertise, share best practices, and build partnerships with the private sector—ensuring sustainable progress in Bahrain’s youth work.
