Bahrain name 23-man squad for Gulf Cup U20

Bahrain have announced their final 23-player squad for the AGCFF Gulf Cup U20 2025, which kicks off in Abha, Saudi Arabia, on Thursday.

The junior national team, led by head coach Ali Aamer, will compete in Group B alongside Iraq, Oman and Egypt. Group A features hosts Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and Yemen.

The squad includes Yahya Adel, Faisal Rashid, Ebrahim Ali, Ali Hussain, Hadi Ghazi, Mohammed Bahzad, Amjad Jaafar, Ali Mahran, Abdulla Osama, Mubarak Fawaz, Mohammed Salah, Khaled Mohammed, Abdulrahman Bassam, Mohammed Adel, Ebrahim Al Muraisi, Hussain Al Haiki, Khaled Al Khalidi, Adam Fareed, Ahmed Nasser and Khaled Ahmed. Goalkeepers Abdulla Ahmed, Hassan Ali and Isa Al Thawadi complete the roster.

Bahrain open their campaign against Iraq on Friday at 7pm, followed by matches against Oman next Monday (7pm) and Egypt on 4 September (4:30pm). All three fixtures will be staged at Damac FC Stadium.

The top two teams from each group advance to the semi-finals on 7 September, with the final scheduled for 10 September at Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Sports City.

The tournament is being staged for the first time under the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation. Egypt, who replaced the withdrawn UAE, are using the event to prepare for the Fifa U20 World Cup in Chile later this year.
