Tributes pour in for HRH PM

Tributes poured in from all quarters yesterday after the honoring of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa as a “World Leader” in health by the World Health Organisation (WHO). Arab Health Ministers in a statement said the achievement has entitled Bahrain to be a leader in the health sector.

“WHO’s honoring of HRH Premier was in appreciation of his prominent role in enhancing general health in the kingdom,” said Egypt’s Health and Population Minister and President of the preparatory meeting of the Executive Bureau of the Arab Health Ministers, Dr. Hala Zayed.  

She was speaking during the 52nd meeting of the Arab health ministers, which discussed the preparations for the 72nd World Health Assembly meeting at the UN headquarters here. Bahrain’s delegation to 72nd World Health Assembly, led by Health Minister, Faeqa bint Said Al-Saleh, participated in Arab Health Ministers’ meeting.

Foreign minister 

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, in a statement, affirmed that the honour furthers the international recognition of His Royal Highness’ significant role in advancing human development.

 “This achievement reflects the WHO’s appreciation of the Prime Minister’s role in supporting the Organisation in different countries,” said Shaikh Khalid. The Council of Representatives Speaker Fawzia Zainal, in a statement, said the award is a recognition of His Highness’s contribution to Bahrain’s comprehensive development and modernization.
