A mass violent brawl erupted meters away from Al-Masjid an-Nabawi between individuals gather for ifthar in the holy city of Medina.
Video footage circulation on social media platforms shows a group of people aggressively exchanging blows and kicks on and around the food intended for ifthar.
The commotion took place moments prior to the designated time to break their fast.
While local news stated the reason for the quarrel is undetermined, reports on social media state a dispute between two individuals over which one gets to offer the needy their food paved the path for the mass fight.
Built by the Prophet Mohammed himself, Al-Masjid an-Nabawi is the second holy mosque located in Saudi and the third mosque to be built in the history of Islam, making it a significant pilgrimage spot.
