Voluntary award: deadline for applications extended
The Organising Committee of Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa Award for Volunteering, in its eighth edition, has decided to extend the deadline for receiving applications until August end. The move comes within the framework of the committee’s keenness to provide participants with the opportunity to submit the best projects according to the criteria set for the award, according to Yaqoub Bu haza’a, Secretary General of the Award.
Bu haza’a said: “We have received many applications and 14 projects have so far met the criteria of the award, and will be among the projects competing for the first positions.”
Bu haza’a stressed that the organising committee stipulated that the participants should present a proposal for the voluntary project which includes specifying the purpose, mechanisms of work and the beneficiary group; as well as emphasising creativity and innovation in the project ideas and means of implementation along with the use of social media to promote projects.
