Zero tolerance to social media abusers: PM

Manama : His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa yesterday pledged zero tolerance to using social media networks to fan rancours through defamatory practices. 

Receiving members of the royal family, officials, businessmen, media figures, journalists and citizens at Gudaibiya Palace yesterday. HRH Premier stressed the need to rather use social media to defend the national interests and people against the big conspiracy targeting the nation. 

HRH Premier praised allegiance of the Bahraini people to their Leadership and their unity that helped it overcome crucial phases in its history. 

HRH Premier lauded the patriotic stances of the Bahraini people, stressing resolve to confront any attempt to drive wedges and incite hatred. 

HRH Premier also praised the Representatives Council and its members, stressing cooperation with them to maximize national achievements and prosperity and ensure a brighter future. 

HRH the Premier underlined his personal follow-up on citizens’ needs and keenness to reach out to them, urging to avail of modern telecommunication technologies to boost national unity and serve development. 

HRH Premier commended the positive response of citizens, columnists and civil society institutions to the warning of the danger of misusing the social media networks which reflects the inherent values of the Bahraini people who reject defamation of people.

HRH the Prime Minister spoke about the prospective elections of Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI)’s Board of Directors and expressed hope that Bait Al Tijjar’s elections will be successful and indicative of the historical value of the commercial  edifice  not  only in Bahrain but the whole region.

 HRH Premier praised BCCI’s contribution to developing the trade momentum in Bahrain, commending its remarkable patriotic stances. HRH Premier also stressed the government’s keenness to provide every support to the chamber to ensure an open and flexible atmosphere to achieve the aspirations of its affiliates.
