Gulf Air, Batelco support national football team

Manama : Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom, announced yesterday it will continue its support to the national football team by allocating an aircraft to transport spectators free of charge from Bahrain to Kuwait to show their support to the team. The team recently reached the semi-finals of Arabian Gulf Cup currently being held in Kuwait City from December 22 until January 5, 2018.

The airline’s support comes in line with a series of initiatives to support the sport scene in the Kingdom and as part of Gulf Air’s corporate social responsibility program as the national carrier helping the national team in its overseas participations.

Gulf Air is the official carrier of the Bahraini football team in its participation in the Arabian Gulf Cup in Kuwait and has been the first company to believe in the team’s potentials. The airline is keen to work hand in hand with the youth and in the field of sports.

Following the directives of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King’s Representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee and in light of the National Team’s qualification to the Gulf Cup ‘Gulf 23’ semi-finals, Batelco announced it is extending its support by offering to fly out fans to Kuwait to provide moral support for the team in the upcoming match against Oman on Tuesday January 2, 2018. 

On this occasion, Batelco Management extended its congratulations to the wise leadership and the people of Bahrain on the Team’s win. They also expressed their pride in the National Team, and hope for the Team’s safe return to home with the Gulf Cup.
