Ministry introduces new upgraded mobile application

Manama : The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has launched an upgraded and fully revamped version of its smart phone application (Wejhaty), Assistant Undersecretary of Human and Financial Resources and Information System, Khalil Y. Alkhayyat stated.
The app services are available both in Arabic and English and is part of the ministry’s efforts to facilitate communication with the public and provide advanced e-government services.
One of the updates ‘tell us about your trip’, developed in collaboration with Information and e-Government Authority (iGA), facilitates communication between Bahraini citizens and students on diplomatic missions  abroad.
The app also provides users with the option to update or modify flight data as well as receive alerts in case of emergencies and get their return coordinated.
Official communication
The service also enhances embassies’ communication with citizens abroad as the app allows them to send a request for help at any time, through direct contact, e-mail or Twitter. The updated application contains phone numbers and emails of the embassies in the Kingdom.
Another important addition is the visa service enquiry. This facility provides information about the visa depending on the citizen’s passport type and the possibility to apply for a visa online.
The service also provides information if a particular state has diplomatic missions in Bahrain and vice versa.
Useful links
The service  providers a range of useful links for passport renewal, travel ban, travel insurance and flight information
depending on the type of the user’s passport.
Through the app, the ministry also notifies about the urgent situations prevailing in the Kingdom.
Wejhaty provides information on travel insurance and connects beneficiaries with the insurance companies.
The updates also guide visitors to explore the most significant Bahraini landmarks and offers links to the tour guide application of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiques, direct e-visa links and the International Bahrain Circuit website.
Citizens can plan their trips on Wejhaty via e-government portal http://www.bahrain.bh or by downloading the Wejhaty application via  the app store, the play store or visiting www.bahrain.bh/apps.
