Hearing in cheque case on March 19
Manama : The court will hear closing arguments in the trial of an ex-minister accused of issuing dud cheques to an individual, on March 19.
The defendant was not present during the court hearing, but his lawyer attended instead.
According to court files, the victim loaned the ex-minister an amount of BD30,000, but he failed to settle it.
Therefore, he filed a case against the accused, prompting the ex-minister to issue cheques to him.
And his bank account turned out to have no balance, because of which the cheques were considered as dud.
It’s worth noting that the same defendant was sentenced to three years behind bars last week.
