Geographical Security System launched

ManamaChief of Public Security, Major-General Tariq Al Hassan yesterday launched the Geographical Security System (GSS) during a ceremony attended by senior officers and experts at the Public Security Officer Club.

The GSS is aimed at linking all operation-related directorates of the Interior Ministry under one system.

The project will enable quick response for daily incidents, crisis management, and security information analysis.

The GSS will assist in the development of the National Ambulance System and allow receivers of cases to deal with road and other accidents and provide first aid instructions until the arrival of the ambulance.

The system will also enhance the quality implementation of security operations and plans in the Kingdom.

The Public Security Chief was briefed on the upgrading of the GSS with modern technology at the ceremony attended by senior officers and experts at the Public Security Officer Club.

“Certain security scenarios to measure readiness and rehabilitate officers and other personnel who are running the new system, through specialised training to meet international standards and promote professionalism in dealing with all cases and accidents will be set,” Al-Hassan said during the launch ceremony,  adding that GSS will be maintained by a specialised company.
