Standard Chartered aims Bahrainisation rate of 75pc

Manama : The Standard Chartered Bank announced it is targeting a localisation rate of 75 per cent by 2020. Currently, the bank, which employs 450 people, enjoys a Bahrainisation rate of over 65pc. 

This was revealed during a celebration hosted by UK Ambassador Simon Martin to celebrate the 200 years of Bahrain-UK relations and the role Standard Chartered has played over the years.

Also present were Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities as the Guest of Honour, Dr. Boutros Klink, CEO of Standard Chartered Bank for Bahrain and the GCC as well as other guests.  The reception was held at the UK Ambassador’s residence. 

Commenting on the event, Dr. Boutros Klink said, “Standard Chartered Bank was established in 1920 as the Eastern Bank, becoming the first bank in the Bahrain. Over the 10 decade journey, the bank has made significant contributions to the development of the Kingdom.” 

He also emphasized the contributions made to the development of the Bahraini talents through training, providing international experience, instilling best practices, and ensuring that they are prepared to meet tomorrow’s challenges.
