Kingdom’s human rights record hailed
Manama : Bahrain has made major strides in protecting and consolidating human rights according to the Shura Council.
The Kingdom’s laws that consolidate these rights, bases a pillar of the democratic approach spearheaded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, according to a statement issued by the Shura Council’s Human Rights Committee marking Human Rights Day, observed worldwide tomorrow.
“Bahrain will remain among the countries which are making tremendous efforts to support and encourage all initiatives that lead to the consolidation and protection of human right through seeking to achieve the goals set by the UN,” the statement said.
The panel lauded the keenness of the government to support all efforts to upgrade the human rights situation in accordance with the Bahrain’s international commitments.
The committee underlined the key role played by the UN and its relevant agencies in preserving and consolidating human rights amid the on going multiple conflicts which have affected human rights, security and stability.
It stressed that the conflicts in the world require an immediate response to ensure protection for displaced people and refugees in the war-ravaged countries.
