BIBF signs MoU with Kazakhstan

ManamaThe Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC), Republic of Kazakhstan.

The MoU is to develop and strengthen cooperation and training and development programmes between the BIBF and the AIFC by interchanging information and expertise in relation to teaching, research and thought leadership in Islamic Finance.

The memorandum was signed on behalf of the BIBF by the Deputy Director, Dr Ahmed Abdul Hameed Al Shaikh, and Governor of the AIFC Dr Kairat Kelimbetov. 

Commenting on the deal, the BIBF, in a statement, said it seeks to continuously upgrade its training capabilities by attaining partnerships with organisations such as the AIFC, a financial hub for Central Asia, the Caucasus, EAEU, the Middle East, West China, Mongolia and Europe. 

AIFC announced the deal will sharpen the AIFC’s goal towards further development and success of the financial sector.
