HRH Premier: Bahrain co-existence, diversity role model

Manama

Throughout its long history, Bahrain has been a role model of co-existence, fraternity and acceptance of others within a framework of intellectual, cultural and religious diversity, Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa said as he received at the Gudaibiya Palace yesterday a number of senior state officials.

Such diversity has made the Kingdom stronger and helped it foil plots aimed at undermining its stability and fragmenting its coherent social fabric, he explained.

The Premier stressed the Bahraini society is highly aware, and therefore, is capable of thwarting conspiracies staged against it. It can identify clearly those seeking to harm to it and subvert its security, away from the visions determined by narrow intellectual and factional interests, he said.

Prince Khalifa lauded the popularity of national industries in the local market and abroad, stressing the importance of focusing on revitalising the economy and all related activities by setting up strong partnerships among all economy-associated sectors.

The Prime Minister also reviewed with the audience other issues of common interest.

Prince Khalifa that holy Ramadan is a month of mercy and forgiveness, and therefore, lessons should be drawn from it to unify Muslims' stances and project the real image of Islam as tolerant religion, in light of the practices of the holders of misguided ideology.

The Premier also emphasised those practices constitute a war against Islam, which is much more severe than that waged by enemies of Islam, he said.
