Human Rights top priority: King

Manama : Human rights are an integral part of the Islamic culture and faith. So promoting them in the community is a top priority, said His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Stressing his keenness to protect human rights in Bahrain, HM the King underscored the Kingdom’s unwavering commitment to international laws and covenants in this respect. 

During a meeting with a delegation from the European Parliament led by member of the Foreign Affairs Committee Amjad Beshir at Safriya Palace yesterday, HM King Hamad spotlighted Bahrain’s achievements since the launch of the reform project. 

The King stressed Bahrain’s strides on the path of reform and development, pointing out the Kingdom’s resolve to go ahead with further promoting the democratic march. 

Meanwhile, HM the King discussed with the delegation regional and international developments in the meeting. The King also commended the role of the European Parliament in buttressing regional and international peace.

The delegation thanked King Hamad for his keenness to further develop relations with the European Union member States. 

They described Bahrain as a vivid model for constant development in all areas.
