Posting obscene pics online: Woman’s trial put off to October 5
Manama : The High Criminal Appeals Court adjourned hearing the appeal of a Bahraini woman convicted of publishing obscene images online until October 5.
The Bahraini woman is said to have uploaded pornographic materials on her social media accounts in order to manipulate men pursuing prostitutes.
The defendant is said to have conned many men who deposited cash in her bank account in an effort to lure them to have sex with her.
She was reportedly posting the pictures along with her bank account number, requesting “those who are seeking sex” to put money in her account and then message her.
The woman was arrested after the police received a tip-off about her account.
However, the mobile number that she provided belonged to a local man. The latter told police officers that he was shocked to receive many phone calls from men who were seeking to have sex.
The defendant was also found to be implicated in other fraud cases as well as using illegal drugs.
