Swindled by realtors, bizman wins in court

Paid for three villas in an estate, but got different houses in another location

 A Businessman has won a court case after he was cheated by property developers, who gave him different villas from the ones he paid for.

 Businessman Abdallah Kaiksow invested BD 4,95,000 for three luxury villas in an estate in the Southern Governorate, but did not receive the villas that he paid for. Instead, the property developers gave him three different houses in a nearby locality. The bizarre business etiquette by the property developers left him puzzled. "It was nonsense. I paid for something, but I received something entirely different," Kaiksow said.  He is currently entitled to BD 9,60,000, the current market value of the villas, from the property developers.

 Kaiksow paid for the villas in 2005. But it was in 2007 that he found out that the property owners were giving him villas built in a different location.

 "Apart from it was built in a different location, it also does not include the garden and the landscape that were promised in the original agreement. When they first pitched the villas to me, they included a fairly big garden. But later on they decided to build villas over it. To make it worse, the villas that they have given to me are the ones they built on that garden! " he said.

 "There are a number of issues. Firstly the garden is totally gone, which makes a huge difference aesthetically. Secondly, the swimming pool of the villas is in the view of the public. This was not the case with the villas that I had originally bought," he added.

 As Kaiksow won the court case, the property developers had agreed to take back the three villas. According to the agreement, Kaiksow would not be refunded. But he would be able to finance new villas using the investment he already made, i.e., the BD 9,60,000 could be used for new villas.

 "I informed them that I would like to purchase five villas from them. Since the cost was more than my investment, I agreed to pay the difference. However, I was disappointed with the response. They further inflated its price after I made my offer. Now they are even refusing to take back the three villas, which they built on the garden," he complained.
