Bahrain celebrates youth as drivers of future growth

Bahraini youth's growing achievements in sport, innovation and development were celebrated as Bahrain joined Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states in marking Gulf Youth Day, with senior officials highlighting the vital role young people play in shaping the region’s future.
His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, described the occasion as an opportunity to recognise the ambition, talent and accomplishments of Gulf youth.
HH Shaikh Khalid said Bahraini youth have become a leading example across various fields, particularly in sport, thanks to the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the continued backing of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Highlighting recent sporting success, HH Shaikh Khalid noted that Bahrain won 63 medals, including 25 golds, at the 4th GCC Games in Doha, reflecting the Kingdom’s investment in young talent and athlete development.
His Highness also praised the efforts of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, in empowering young people and creating an environment that supports success and excellence.
Marking the occasion, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, said Gulf Youth Day celebrates a generation that has helped advance development across the GCC through innovation, creativity and determination. HH said Gulf youth have successfully transformed challenges into opportunities, ideas into impactful projects and ambitions into achievements that contribute to national progress.
HH Shaikh Nasser highlighted Bahrain's continued focus on empowering young people through initiatives and programmes designed to develop skills, enhance capabilities and strengthen their role in nation-building.
