Manama : Works Affairs Undersecretary at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ahmed Al Khayyat received at his office the Northern Governorate’s 3rd Constituency representative Abdulla Ebrahim Al Dosari to discuss needs of the Constituency.

The meeting shed light on the Ministry’s plans for the Constituency, where Al Dosari enquired about the latest developments in the revamp of Al Jasra Interchange. He also requested the Ministry to remove the water estuary in Jasra Port to ensure residents are not harmed.

Moreover, Al Dosari requested the revamp of a number of roads in the constituency. These included solving the issue of storm water flood in Block 1004 Road 421, creating an alternative road for trucks heading to North Town through Road 5027 in Budaiya, paving deteriorated roads in Block 555 in Budaiya, completing the paving of roads in Hamala, and expediting work on the sewerage project in Blocks 1009 and 1010.

Al Dosari also enquired about sanitary projects in Budaiya and Jasra. In reply, Al Khayyat explained that the Ministry has commenced work on phase 1 of the revamp of Jasra Interchange.

He added that four companies had been asked to present their designs for the project and that the Municipal Council is to be informed about progress in the project step by step.

As for the water estuary in Jasra, Al Khayyat stated that the estuary is important for the treatment operations in Jasra Plant.

“The Ministry is currently developing the plant and therefore, the estuary will be an emergency line that cannot be removed until the conveyance system is implemented from Jasra Plant to Tubli Plant in the future,” he said.

“In order to solve the issue of storm water flood in Block 1004 on Road 421, the Ministry has completed the designs for a storm water drainage network in the area,” he added.

Al Khayyat also directed the engineer in charge of the area to detect all the roads that contain hollows and maintain them at the earliest. As for the alternative road for trucks, the Ministry is currently constructing one from Road 36 to Abu Subh Beach.

Al Khayyat also stated that a number of sanitary projects are to be implemented in Budaiya and Jasra.
