Over 370 Student Delegates Gather for BMUNIS'26 at The Indian School Bahrain

The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) hosted the Bahrain Model United Nations Conference (BMUNIS'26) at its Isa Town campus, bringing together around 370 student delegates from Grades 6 to 12 representing leading schools across the Kingdom to debate pressing global issues and hone their diplomatic skills.
The two-day conference was officially inaugurated by ISB Hon. Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese, alongside Principal Santha Kumar Dasari, Junior Wing Principal Pamela Xavier, Academic Administration Vice-Principal Rajesh Nair, and MUN Director Chhaya Joshi.
Participating institutions included The Indian School, Abdul Rahman Kanoo International School, Al Noor International School, The Asian School, Bahrain Bayan School, Bahrain Indian School, Ibn Al Hytham Islamic School, New Horizon School, New Indian School, New Millennium School, and St. Christopher's School.
Led by Secretary-General Joel Shaiju, Deputy Secretary-General Evana Rachel Binu, Student Director of the Organizing Committee Aryan Sathyan Das, and Student Director of Research and Training Sanjay Preji, the event stood out as a completely student-led conference. Student chairs presided over individual council chambers, guiding delegates through rigorous debates following authentic United Nations procedures.
In his inaugural address, Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese highlighted ISB's legacy as the first CBSE institution in Bahrain to host its own MUN.
The conference concluded with an awards ceremony recognizing exceptional delegates across categories including Best Delegate, Best Speaker, Best Researcher, and Most Diplomatic.
