Three get life time jail in Bahrain
Manama : Advocate General and Chief of Terror Crimes Prosecution, Ahmed Al Hammadi, today confirmed that the High Criminal Court had sentenced three individuals to life in prison, and one suspect to 15 years in prison after being found guilty of attempted murder. The defendants were also found guilty of arson and possessing explosive materials.
Advocate General Al Hammadi said that the charges related to an incident in November 2014, which saw the individuals obstruct a public highway and attack a vehicle and its passengers using firearms.
The court heard that the Public Prosecution brought the charges against the defendants based on witness testimonies and detailed forensic evidence.
The Advocate General said that the defendants had regular access to their legal teams throughout the trial, and that they maintain the right to appeal the ruling, as guaranteed by Bahraini law.
