Blast suspects handed life sentences

Manama : Advocate General and Chief of Terror Crimes Prosecution, Ahmed Al Hammadi, today announced that the High Criminal Court had sentenced three individuals to life in prison for carrying out a bomb attack in Sitra, and possessing explosive materials, weapons and ammunition.

The Advocate General said that in May 2014, the individuals manufactured explosives and planted devices in a Sitra village petrol station, with the intent of inflicting maximum harm.

Advocate General and Chief of Terror Crimes Prosecution confirmed that the defendants had been afforded full legal rights throughout the trial, and that the charges were brought about following comprehensive investigations, which included forensic evidence reports and witness testimonies.
