‘Best Camp Award’ distributed

Southern Governor Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa gave away HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Best Camp Award to the winners here yesterday.

Khamees Fardan’s camp in Al Jidr area received HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Best Camp Award at the function.

The Governor lauded the contribution of Tatweer Petroleum Company in the reward, by allocating a weekly cash prize to the best camp site that is committed to the standards of camping, which instructs to keep a distance of at least 425 metres from the nearest oil well in Sakhir camping area.

Shaikh Abdullah highlighted the noble goals of the award, adding that the Governorate is keen on promoting the culture of preserving wildlife and the necessity of committing to the terms and conditions set by the Camping Supreme Committee.

The Southern Governorate earlier announced that registration for HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Best Camp Award is open for all campers.

The Governorate said in a statement that the award is aiming to raise awareness among campers on safety, community partnership and encourage them to follow the preset instructions of the Camping Supreme Committee.
