Bahrain Handball Team Wins Asian Games Gold After Thrilling Final
Bahrain’s national handball team secured the gold medal at the 20th Asian Games, Aichi-Nagoya 2026, after defeating Qatar 33-32 in a closely contested final.
His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) and head of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s delegation to the Games, attended the final and celebrated the team’s victory.
Following the match, HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa congratulated the players, as well as the technical and administrative staff, praising their performance throughout the tournament and their determination in the decisive final.
HH said the achievement reflected the continued support for Bahraini sport from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, along with the attention of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
