HRH Crown Prince Meets GCC Secretary-General in Riffa
His Royal Highness affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, remains steadfast in its support for the continued advancement of the GCC and its joint action, reflecting the Kingdom’s deep-rooted belief in the importance of unity amongst the Gulf states and its commitment to strengthening coordination and cooperation among GCC member states.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister emphasised the importance of creating opportunities that advance greater integration within the council, in line with the visions and aspirations of GCC leaders.
His Royal Highness was briefed by HE AlBudaiwi on the progress made in implementing the directives and decisions issued by the GCC leaders during the Extraordinary Consultative Gulf Summit of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council, held in April.
His Royal Highness highlighted the deep-rooted and longstanding relationship between Bahrain and all GCC member states, and directed the Secretary General to ensure the Council achieves the visions and aspirations of GCC leaders, to contribute to furthering joint Gulf action in support of regional security, stability, and peace, enhancing the GCC states’ regional and international presence and advancing development and progress in line with the aspirations of the citizens and residents of the GCC, creating a prosperous future for all.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister commended the solidarity demonstrated by GCC member states in addressing various issues, commending the efforts of the GCC General Secretariat in advancing multilateral action and supporting greater integration and cooperation.
The meeting also included discussions on topics of shared interest aimed at furthering the progress of the GCC.
For his part, His Excellency the Secretary-General of the GCC expressed his gratitude to His Royal Highness for his steadfast commitment to strengthening GCC cooperation to achieve common goals and aspirations.
HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister's Court, HE Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, and several senior officials also attended the meeting.
