ICAI Bahrain Chapter Celebrates India’s 80th Independence Day with Patriotism and Cultural Flair

The Bahrain Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day , bringing together members, their families, and distinguished guests at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Manama for an afternoon dedicated to national pride, cultural heritage, and community spirit. The event marked the first major flagship initiative hosted by the newly constituted ICAI Bahrain Executive Committee for the 2026–27 term, setting an energetic tone for its upcoming tenure.
The proceedings commenced with an official inauguration followed by an opening address from Chapter Chairperson CA Viinod Rathi. The stage then came alive with vibrant cultural performances that showcased India's artistic diversity, adding enthusiasm and patriotic energy to the celebrations.
A major highlight of the afternoon was a keynote motivational session delivered by retired Indian Navy officer Lt. Cdr. Bijay Nair, titled "Against the Tide – My Life Journey." Drawing from his years of military service and subsequent professional transition, Lt. Cdr. Nair shared insights on personal resilience, leadership under pressure, and the importance of national contribution. His message on civic service and overcoming adversity resonated strongly with the audience.
The event also hosted a special prize distribution ceremony recognizing active engagement across three recent community initiatives organized by the chapter. Awards were presented for the Yoga Programme, which promoted physical wellness and mindfulness, the Fit for Freedom Challenge, which encouraged active living, and the Independence Day Art Competition, which showcased the creative talent of young participants and families.
The afternoon concluded with a vote of thanks presented by the executive committee, followed by high tea, providing guests and members an opportunity to network and connect. In a closing statement, the leadership of ICAI Bahrain expressed its gratitude to all delegates, performers, and organizers whose efforts contributed to a successful launch of the 2026–27 executive term.
