Royal decrees update key government bodies
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, issued four separate edicts covering government appointments and commercial regulations.
Edict (3) of 2026 amends last year's decree on the Royal Fund for Fallen Servicemen. The Minister of the Prime Minister's Court has been added as a member of the fund's Supreme Commission, which HRH the Crown Prince also chairs.
Similarly, Edict (35) of 2026 adds the Minister of the Prime Minister's Court to the Civil Service Council, updating the council's 2018 founding decree.
Commerce rules for Bahrainis
Edict (36) of 2026 sets out commercial activities that will be restricted to Bahraini nationals only. The move follows a proposal from the Minister of Industry and Commerce and was approved by the Cabinet.
Finally, Edict (37) of 2026 appoints Judge Dr. Riyadh Mohammed Ibrahim Sayadi as full-time Director of the Judicial and Legal Studies Institute at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf.
All four edicts take effect immediately and will be published in the Official Gazette.
