Kingdom chairs key petroleum committee meeting as Gulf states align on energy integration

Bahrain chaired a virtual meeting of the GCC Petroleum Cooperation Committee, held under the Kingdom's presidency of the 46th GCC session.

Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Dainah, Bahrain's Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, led the session, which brought together energy ministers and senior officials from across GCC member states. GCC Secretary General Jassim Mohammed Al Budaiwi also attended.

The minister stressed the need for continued coordination among member states to strengthen joint Gulf action and deepen integration in the energy sector—in line with directives from GCC leaders.

He described the Petroleum Cooperation Committee as playing a strategic role in aligning policies and supporting energy security in response to regional and global developments.

Dr. Dainah highlighted key strategic projects reinforcing Gulf energy integration, particularly oil and gas pipeline networks. He cited their role in boosting connectivity, improving infrastructure efficiency, and ensuring sustainable energy supplies to support broader economic development.

The committee also reviewed outcomes from the 19th consultative summit of GCC leaders and assessed progress on previously issued recommendations.
