Shura Chairman Praises Arab Parliamentary Union’s Contributions on 52nd Anniversary
Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, highlighted the important role played by the Arab Parliamentary Union (APU) in strengthening joint Arab parliamentary action and enhancing its presence in regional and international parliamentary forums in support of Arab causes.
Marking the 52nd anniversary of the establishment of the APU, Al Saleh sent a cable of congratulations to Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al Sheikh, Chairman of the Shura Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and President of the APU. He expressed his appreciation for the efforts made to strengthen cooperation, coordination, and collaboration among Arab parliaments and legislative councils.
Al Saleh commended Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al Al Sheikh’s dedication to reinforcing the union’s role in addressing Arab issues and developing parliamentary perspectives and initiatives that contribute to development and progress across the Arab world.
The Shura Council Chairman reaffirmed the council’s commitment to supporting the Arab Parliamentary Union’s efforts and enhancing consultation and coordination with Arab legislative bodies to strengthen unified positions on matters of common concern and reflect the deep-rooted ties among Arab nations.
Al Saleh also sent a congratulatory cable to Dr. Ahmed bin Alawi Baabood, Secretary General of the Arab Parliamentary Union, praising his efforts in advancing the work of the union’s General Secretariat and supporting its objectives of promoting cooperation and coordination among Arab parliaments and councils.
