Shura Council Speaker Denounces Attack Near Barakah Facility

Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Speaker of the Shura Council, strongly condemned the terrorist drone attack targeting the vicinity of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in the United Arab Emirates.
In a cable sent to Saqr Ghobash, Al Saleh expressed Bahrain’s full solidarity with the UAE and its support in confronting threats targeting the country’s security, stability and vital facilities.
He said the attack represented a clear violation of international law, international conventions protecting civilian infrastructure and United Nations Security Council resolutions.
Al Saleh also praised the readiness of UAE authorities and air defence systems, noting that the attack caused no injuries and did not affect radiation safety levels.
The Speaker reaffirmed the UAE’s right to take all necessary measures to safeguard its sovereignty and protect its citizens and residents in line with international law.
