Married women of the Bahrain Odia Samaj (BOS) gathered in Manama on Saturday to observe Sabitri Pooja, praying for the well-being, protection, prosperity, and longevity of their husbands.
Rooted in the legendary Hindu mythological tale of Sabitri and Satyavan, the Sabitri Brata reflects the unwavering love, sacrifice, and spiritual strength of a devoted wife. The festival holds unique importance in the Indian state of Odisha, beautifully blending Puranic traditions with local customs. For Odia women, the day embodies devotion, love, and cultural identity.
