Manama: On June 22, the High Criminal Court of Appeal will issue a judgement in a narcotics trafficking and possession case involving four defendants. A garage owner's complaints about unusual activities at his workshop led to the investigation.

Court reports state that after witnessing multiple visits by people without cars for repair, the owner became concerned about possible illegal activity involving one of his employees.

The situation worsened when the owner questioned the employee, who allegedly failed to provide clear explanations for multiple visits. Soon after, three people arrived at the garage to ask for the employee, but when they were asked about possible drug-related behaviour, they escaped.
After the owner took the employee to the police station and filed a formal complaint, security officers started the investigation.

Police allegedly recovered 195.3 grams of cannabis hidden in a pack after investigating the suspect's home. Investigators from the Anti-Narcotics Directorate say that the main accused was a part of an organised trafficking network that employed the 'dead drop' method, which involves hiding drugs at covert sites for pickup without direct contact between buyers and suppliers.

The main accused, a garage worker, was previously convicted of trafficking, selling, and possessing drugs. The Court of First Instance fined him BD 5,000, sentenced him to 10 years in prison, and demanded his deportation after his sentence was served.
Three more convicts were sentenced to one year in imprisonment and fined BD 1,000 for carrying and using psychotropic medications.

Authorities also seized cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, synthetic cannabinoids, cannabis, and drug-related paraphernalia during a broader inquiry.
