Asian conman arrested
A conman was recently arrested for using fake credit cards to purchase goods at a shopping mall in the Kingdom, security authorities announced.
Anti-corruption and Economic and Electronic Security General Director Lieutenant Colonel Bassam Al Miraj confirmed in a statement issued late on Sunday that “the man was arrested while using forged credit cards at a commercial mall.”
Elaborating further, Al Miraj said that “the department received a case reported by a bank of a man using forged credit cards to buy products from the mall.”
“The police rushed to the scene and he was caught red-handed and arrested immediately,” the General Director announced, adding that “legal proceedings are being taken and the cards were seized to refer the case to the Public Prosecution.”
The directorate had foiled similar crimes that included multiple individuals mainly from Asian nationalities during the year 2015. However, this is the first case announced this year.
