Bahrain Defense Forces Successfully Intercept Iranian Missile and Drone Attacks

The General Command of the Bahrain Defense Force (BDF) has affirmed its determination to counter all aggressive Iranian terrorist attacks targeting the Kingdom. Since the morning of Saturday, February 28, 2026, various regions in Bahrain have been subjected to indiscriminate missile and drone strikes.

BDF air defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed 70 missiles and 76 drones, mitigating further potential damage. Despite these efforts, the ongoing attacks have caused material damage to civilian property and critical infrastructure.

The General Command emphasized that all defense systems remain at maximum readiness to respond decisively and immediately to any threats.

Bahrain also condemned the indiscriminate targeting of civilians and civilian sites, describing it as a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and the United Nations Charter, disregarding all international conventions and basic human ethics.

The Kingdom affirmed its right to take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty and ensure national security.

Authorities urged the public to stay indoors and leave their homes only for urgent needs, exercise maximum caution, rely on official information sources, avoid photographing military operations, refrain from spreading rumors, and stay away from affected areas to ensure safety.
