Bahrain Implements Precautionary Measures
The Kingdom of Bahrain has implemented a series of precautionary measures amid ongoing regional developments to ensure the safety of residents, students, and government employees.
Education Moves Online
The Ministry of Education announced that all educational institutions will transition to remote learning starting tomorrow until further notice. This includes early childhood centers, public and private schools, and universities. Schools and universities are required to continue teaching and monitor student attendance through digital platforms, ensuring continuity of education despite the temporary closure of physical campuses.
Government Adopts Remote Work
The Civil Service Authority stated that 70% of government employees will work remotely, effective immediately until further notice. Essential sectors and departments that require on-site operations will continue their duties to maintain public safety and essential services.
Food Supply Remains Stable
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce reassured the public that essential food items remain fully available across Bahrain. Authorities confirmed that strategic reserves are sufficient and secure, ensuring uninterrupted supply and stable prices.
Safety Warnings and Evacuations
The Ministry of Interior (MOI) has urged citizens and residents to avoid approaching debris or objects resulting from missile interception operations and to report any findings immediately to the emergency hotline 999.
Evacuations have begun in the Juffair area, with authorities requesting full cooperation from residents and citizens. Traffic updates indicate that the entrance to Juffair via Al Fateh Highway has reopened, while the Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Bridge remains closed in both directions.
US Embassy Closure
The United States Embassy in Manama announced that it will remain closed on Sunday, March 1, 2026, following the missile attacks targeting Bahrain on February 28. All regular and emergency consular appointments scheduled for Sunday have been canceled. A date for resuming normal operations will be announced later.
Legal Advisory
The MOI has also issued a stern warning, emphasizing that filming, posting, or reposting videos from incident scenes is a legal violation. Such actions may jeopardize public safety and order, and violators will face legal consequences.
Regional Support
In a display of solidarity, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received a phone call from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia, who affirmed full Saudi support for Bahrain and strongly condemned the hostile missile attacks carried out by Iran.
