SPE President Lauds Bahrain’s Leadership Support for Oil and Energy Sector
Dr. Jennifer Miskimins, President of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), paid an official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, where she met with senior officials and engineers from the oil and energy sector and reviewed the key achievements of the SPE Bahrain Section.
The visit reflects the strong performance of the Society’s Bahrain Section and its growing contribution to strengthening collaboration between the industrial sector, academic institutions, and other stakeholders. It also underscores Bahrain’s emerging role as a regional hub for professional excellence, knowledge exchange, and forward-looking dialogue in the energy sector.
During her visit, Dr. Miskimins was received by Mr. Faisal Al Mahroos, Chairman of Bapco Exploration & Production and Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the SPE Bahrain Section, at the company’s headquarters. The meeting was attended by several officials and members of the SPE Bahrain Section’s board. Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation, as well as organizing specialized events and training programs aimed at developing the sector and raising the professional standards of engineers.
Dr. Miskimins praised Bahrain as a leading example in the development of engineering human capital, commending the strong support extended to the oil and energy sector by the Kingdom’s wise leadership. She also expressed her appreciation for the outstanding efforts of the SPE Bahrain Section, highlighting its effective role in developing engineering competencies and promoting the exchange of knowledge and expertise among oil and gas professionals.
For his part, Engineer Abdullah Al Dhawadi, Chairman of the Society of Petroleum Engineers – Bahrain Section, said he was proud of the President’s visit to the Kingdom. He noted that her engagement with the board, industry partners, and the academic community serves as a source of pride and motivation for the Bahrain Section and reinforces its commitment to professional growth and sectoral development.
