Interior Minister Commends Major Saud Buhejji for Innovative Water Sustainability Research

Lieutenant General His Excellency Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, recently received Major Saud Abdulaziz Buhejji of the General Directorate of Media and Security Culture. During the meeting, Major Buhejji presented His Excellency with a copy of his Master’s thesis, which he earned with distinction and honors from Leeds Beckett University in the United Kingdom.

The research, specialized in Advanced Engineering Management, focuses on the sustainable verification of water consumption through the use of drone technology in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The study highlights the potential for employing unmanned aerial systems to significantly reduce operational costs and enhance the overall efficiency of national water resource management.

His Excellency the Minister congratulated Major Buhejji on his academic achievement, praising the high caliber of scientific research presented in the study. He emphasized that the Ministry of Interior remains dedicated to encouraging academic pursuits that contribute to the Kingdom’s comprehensive modernization process. Such research is instrumental in developing advanced security and public services that align with the highest global standards.

Major Buhejji’s work has already garnered international acclaim, including a prestigious award received during an environmental sustainability conference at Loughborough University in September 2025. His findings underscore the importance of integrating modern engineering solutions to address environmental challenges and streamline urban management.
