Bahrain Launches First Veterinary Medicine Conference and Exhibition 2025

H.E. Eng. Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, officially inaugurated the First Bahrain Veterinary Medicine Conference and Exhibition 2025 today at the Awal Hall, Gulf Hotel. The two-day event, held on 25 and 26 September, features wide local and international participation.

In his opening remarks, H.E. the Minister highlighted that the conference reflects Bahrain’s firm commitment to supporting the livestock sector, a key contributor to the country’s food security and sustainable development. He emphasized that the event serves as a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange, building shared visions, and launching innovative initiatives to advance veterinary medicine and enhance veterinary health services nationally and regionally.

The Minister further noted that the conference addresses critical topics, including the review of veterinary legislation and standards, sharing best practices in veterinary care, and exploring the role of modern technology in service development. He stressed that veterinary medicine extends beyond animal health, serving as a pillar for public health, food safety, and the national economy through the “One Health” concept.

H.E. AbdulHakim Al Shammari, Vice Chairman of the Bahrain Businessmen Association, delivered a speech highlighting the importance of private sector participation in supporting veterinary projects, noting that investment in this vital sector contributes to its development and sustainability.

AbdulRahim Naqi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Giklast Events, Trade, and Consultancy, the conference organizer, underscored the importance of partnerships with the Ministry of Municipalities and Agriculture to promote veterinary medicine. He affirmed that the event showcases the significant potential of the veterinary sector in Bahrain and the wider region.
