Interior Minister Meets Pakistani National Assembly Speaker to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation
His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, today received His Excellency Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and his accompanying delegation. The meeting was attended by His Excellency Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, the Deputy Minister of Interior, the Chief of Public Security, senior Interior Ministry officials, the Second Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives – who also served as Head of the Honorary Mission accompanying the guest – as well as the Ambassador of Pakistan to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Interior Minister welcomed the visit, describing it as an opportunity to exchange views and strengthen communication between the two countries. He praised the deep-rooted brotherly and historical ties between Bahrain and Pakistan, emphasizing the importance of such meetings in further developing bilateral relations and expanding avenues of cooperation.
His Excellency also commended the contributions of the Pakistani community in Bahrain, noting their integral role in the Kingdom’s development. He highlighted that members of the community live harmoniously alongside Bahraini citizens, benefiting from full care, attention, and access to all services.
The Minister recalled his recent visit to Pakistan, which helped enhance security cooperation and led to the establishment of a joint security committee aimed at boosting collaboration across various areas of law enforcement. He underlined the keen interest expressed by Pakistani officials in further developing bilateral relations.
During the meeting, the Pakistani Speaker was briefed on the Ministry of Interior’s efforts in maintaining security, public order, and overall safety in Bahrain.
Both sides discussed areas of cooperation and coordination to strengthen joint efforts in addressing security challenges, in addition to reviewing several regional developments and issues of mutual concern.
