Promoting Bahraini Heritage and Culture • Fostering Community of Critical Readers
The Bahrain History and Dilmun Reading Club launched at its Juffair headquarters to promote a culture of reading focused on Bahraini history and heritage. The initiative highlights Bahraini and Arab writers while fostering a community of critical readers through dialogue and knowledge exchange.
The ceremony included a welcoming speech, honoring several Bahraini writers and authors by Dr. Issa Amin, Chairman of the Society’s Board of Directors. Honorary membership cards were presented to intellectuals and cultural contributors, including Dr. Ali Fakhro, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Hashemi, Dr. Lulwa Budlama, Nabil Ajur, Ibrahim Bashmi, Amin Saleh, and Dr. Hisham Al-Sheikh.
At the conclusion, Dr. Mohammed Lori, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dilmun Reading Club, honored Dr. Amin for his support. Speaking at the event, Dr. Ali Fakhro highlighted reading as a “sensitive and profound” experience, emphasizing the importance of balancing print and digital reading to preserve mental faculties and enhance comprehension.
