A young man who suffered life-threatening injuries in a motorcycle accident has made a full recovery thanks to the quick intervention of doctors at Salmaniya Medical Complex.

The accident left the patient with severe liver damage and heavy internal bleeding in the abdomen. He was rushed to the Emergency Department in critical condition, where initial tests revealed major internal bleeding. Doctors immediately transferred him to intensive care for close monitoring.

Dr. Hazem Al Alai, Head of Surgical Services, praised the medical team’s swift response, noting that the success reflects the high readiness and coordination of government hospital teams, as well as their ability to handle emergencies with advanced global techniques.

Dr. Ammar Khamis, Consultant in Interventional Radiology and Catheterization, explained that an urgent procedure was performed by inserting a catheter through the thigh artery to reach the liver. The team quickly identified the source of bleeding and stopped it using specialized treatment coils—all within 30 minutes and without open surgery.

The patient later received intensive care, during which accumulated blood was gradually drained under close supervision. His condition steadily improved, and he was eventually discharged from the hospital in good health.

“This is a true example of teamwork and medical excellence,” the doctors said, expressing pride in saving the patient’s life.
