Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa praised the instrumental role the Ministry of Interior plays in maintaining security within the Kingdom, and the Kingdom’s standards of policing which are in line with international standards.
Patronising the Royal Academy of Police’s ceremony to mark the graduation of the eighth class of candidate officers here yesterday, Prince Salman highlighted the success of the prestigious Royal Academy of Police’s training programmes, and His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s continued support to the Academy.
Earlier, HRH the Crown Prince was welcomed by the Minister of Interior, Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, and other senior officers from the Ministry of Interior.
Prince Salman also offered congratulations to the commissioning officer cadets and highlighted their dedication to supporting His Majesty’s programme of reform and sustainable development.
Speaking on the occasion, Shaikh Rashid expressed his appreciation to HM the King, HRH the Premier and HRH the Crown Prince for their continued support. He went on to note the importance of improving policing capabilities, developing training, and ensuring the readiness of the Ministry in light of on-going security threats.
During the ceremony, Colonel Dr Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Commander of the Royal Academy of Police, emphasised the importance of high quality training. He also noted the importance of exchanging expertise. “This year’s batch of candidate officers includes officers from Kuwait and Jordan.” Prince Salman inspected the officer-cadets’ parade and also honoured the top achievers. The Minister of Interior gave away the commissioning certificates to the officer cadets on the occasion.
