Bahrain, Syria Strengthen Security Cooperation
Bahrain has reaffirmed its support for Syria by strengthening bilateral cooperation in security and emergency response during an official visit by Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa to Damascus.
'Carrying a message from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, the minister conveyed Bahrain's wishes for Syria's continued security, stability and prosperity.
Meetings with Syrian officials focused on expanding security coordination, exchanging expertise and addressing regional developments. The visit also saw the signing of a memorandum of understanding on disaster risk reduction and civil protection, covering joint training, technical support, field visits, and cooperation on emergency response, recovery and reconstruction efforts.
