Trump Hosts Lebanon's President at White House
U.S. President Donald Trump welcomed Lebanese President Joseph Aoun to the White House on Tuesday for their first face-to-face meeting, marking the first visit by a Lebanese head of state to Washington in nearly two decades.
The leaders discussed efforts to stabilize southern Lebanon, the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces under a U.S.-brokered agreement, and plans to strengthen Lebanon's state institutions.
President Aoun presented proposals aimed at reducing Hezbollah's armed role while reinforcing the Lebanese Armed Forces, as Trump reaffirmed Washington's commitment to supporting Lebanon's sovereignty, security, and long-term stability.
The meeting also focused on expanding bilateral cooperation and advancing diplomatic efforts to promote peace and regional security
