Bahrain Condemns Houthi Threats Against Saudi Arabia

The Kingdom of Bahrain strongly condemned the terrorist threats issued by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including its allegations, incitement and irresponsible escalation, describing them as a serious threat to regional security and stability, as well as to maritime navigation, international trade and innocent civilians. Bahrain said such actions constitute a flagrant violation of international law, the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, and relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the Kingdom's unwavering position and full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, stressing that the security of Saudi Arabia is an integral part of Bahrain's security. The ministry reiterated Bahrain's full support for all legitimate measures taken by Saudi Arabia to safeguard its sovereignty, security, stability and territorial integrity. It also underscored the importance of concerted international efforts to protect maritime navigation in the Red Sea, Bab al Mandab Strait and all other vital waterways, in order to ensure the security of energy supplies and the uninterrupted flow of global trade.

The ministry also reiterated Bahrain's appreciation for the diplomatic, humanitarian and development efforts led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to achieve a comprehensive and lasting political solution to the Yemeni crisis, in accordance with the Gulf Initiative and its implementation mechanism, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference, and the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions, foremost among them Resolution 2216. It stressed that such efforts are aimed at preserving Yemen's unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity, while fulfilling the aspirations of the Yemeni people for security, stability and sustainable prosperity
