Qatar PM Meets U.S. Envoys to Review Iran Talks

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Qatar’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, met U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to discuss ongoing regional diplomatic efforts, including negotiations between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed the latest developments in the Iran talks, conducted within the framework of the memorandum of understanding between the parties. The discussions emphasized the importance of continued dialogue and diplomatic engagement as a pathway toward enhancing regional security and stability.

The talks also addressed recent developments across the region, with particular focus on the ceasefire in Lebanon. Both sides underlined the need to strengthen and sustain the ceasefire agreement in a manner that preserves Lebanon's unity, sovereignty, and long-term stability.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani reaffirmed Qatar's ongoing commitment to mediation efforts and its support for all diplomatic tracks stemming from the memorandum of understanding. He stressed Qatar's goal of achieving a comprehensive and sustainable settlement that promotes regional security, protects the interests of peoples in the region, and strengthens international peace and security.

The U.S. envoys expressed appreciation for Qatar's diplomatic role, working in partnership with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, in facilitating dialogue between relevant parties. They also reiterated Washington's commitment to continuing negotiations and supporting diplomatic initiatives aimed at reaching a comprehensive agreement.
