Kuwait Forms Committee to Assess Safe Resumption of Sports Activities

Tarek Al-Jalahma, Kuwait’s Minister of State for Youth and Sports, announced on Monday the formation of a specialized committee to evaluate the potential resumption of sports activities currently suspended due to exceptional circumstances impacting both the country and the wider region.
The announcement followed a coordination meeting organized by the Kuwait Olympic Committee, which brought together representatives from local sports clubs and national federations to discuss the way forward.
According to the minister, the newly formed committee will hold weekly meetings to closely monitor developments and assess conditions. Its primary objective is to ensure that any decision to restart sports activities is carried out in a safe, structured, and well-considered manner.
Authorities emphasized that the safety of athletes, officials, and the public remains a top priority as Kuwait navigates the current challenges.
