UN Security Council to hold closed-door meeting on Iran

NEW YORK: The UN Security Council has scheduled a closed consultation regarding the situation in Iran for Friday morning.
According to two UN diplomats speaking on condition of anonymity, Russia requested the session to address recent strikes on Iranian civilian infrastructure. The United States, which currently holds the Security Council presidency, formally scheduled the meeting to facilitate the discussion.
