Air France Suspends Flights to Dubai Amid Regional Tensions

Paris: Air France announced on Friday that it has temporarily suspended its flights to Dubai due to the current geopolitical situation in the Middle East. At the same time, Dutch airline KLM said it has stopped several flights to the region.

In a statement sent to Agence France-Presse (AFP), Air France said the decision was taken “in view of the current situation in the Middle East.” The airline added that it is closely monitoring developments in the areas its aircraft serve or pass through to ensure the highest levels of safety and security.

On Friday, Air France cancelled two flights from Paris to Dubai, AF660 and AF658. As a result, two return flights from Dubai to Paris scheduled for Saturday on the same aircraft were also cancelled.

The airline said it is monitoring the situation continuously and will provide further updates on its flight schedule later. It stressed that the safety of its passengers and crew remains its top priority.

Meanwhile, KLM announced that it has suspended flights to Tel Aviv and Dubai, as well as to Dammam and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, according to Dutch television network NOS. KLM did not give specific reasons for the decision but said it was made in coordination with Dutch authorities.

Earlier this week, German airline Lufthansa said it would suspend flights to and from Tehran until at least March 29.

The developments come as tensions in the region continue to rise. In recent days, the United States has increased pressure on Iran, and US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that an American military fleet is heading towards the Gulf.
