Six Dead in Bangkok Market Shooting: Former Security Guard Identified as Gunman

A tragic mass shooting at a busy market in Bangkok on Monday has left six people dead, including the suspected shooter.
The incident took place at Or Tor Kor Market in the city’s Chatuchak district. According to local reports, the gunman opened fire on a group of people, killing four security guards and a market vendor. A fifth security guard, who was critically injured, later died in hospital, raising the total death toll to six.
Authorities identified the shooter as a 61-year-old former security guard who had previously worked for the same company as the victims. Eyewitnesses say that after the shooting, the man calmly sat down on a bench in the middle of the market before turning the gun on himself.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, and police quickly secured the area. An investigation is now underway to determine what led to the attack.
Locals and vendors in the market have been left shocked and heartbroken by the sudden violence. Many are mourning the loss of colleagues and friends in what should have been a normal working day.
